SCULPTURE
Small Deer
In this piece I wanted to create something strange looking but at the same time loveable. I used rusted iron wire for the armature that is only slightly visible to hint that the creature is in disrepair and in need of care. The use of wicker as the main material is reminiscent of a woodland creature. Lastly the unglazed white clay is earthy and raw which represents the connection to nature that any forest animal, dead or alive, would have. The materials combined give life and personality to the sculpture.
